Volunteering at Cedar Heights is a great way to share your interests, build new skills, meet new people, and give back to the community. Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do, helping create a welcoming and vibrant place for everyone.
They bring a spirit of cooperation, respect, and generosity to everything they do. Cedar Heights volunteers enjoy working as part of a team, value the diverse backgrounds of our members and visitors, and are always open to new ideas. With initiative, creativity, and good humour, they help lead activities and events, and make our community a fun and friendly place to be.

Volunteer Stories
It is my pleasure to honor and recognize Anne Ramsay for her many contributions to the Cedar Heights Centre. Anne is a long-time member and a kind-hearted, thoughtful, and hardworking person. She excels at obtaining prizes and is a standout when it comes to organizing events such as the Annual Christmas Bake Sale, Kid’s Only Shopping lunch, and Pie Making Day, and who else but Anne can get 300 pounds of apples donated? She brings passion and dedication to everything she does for the Centre, and of special note, her carrot cake is to die for.”
Doug is the Pickleball Coordinator for Cedar Heights and plays a huge role in keeping everything running smoothly. He organizes court clean-ups, prepares the courts each season, manages sign-ups and schedules for round-robin and beginner play, and even helps coordinate the winter league in Sorrento. Doug also sets up nets and umbrellas and helps clean the courts after storms. His dedication makes it possible for so many people to come together for fitness, fun, and community.
Blair Holmes has been a Blind Bay resident since 2019 and a familiar face at Cedar Heights, often found giving it his all at Keep Fit classes. He generously gave up much of his summer as a retiree to maintain our golf course, logging over 20,000 steps nearly every day, and also spearheaded the update of the CHCA Strategic Plan to help ensure Cedar Heights remains strong and thriving for years to come. Thank you, Blair, for all you do!
